Questions, answered
Frequently asked.
The questions readers and prospective buyers ask most often. Don't see yours? Send Tom a note.
Is this really the original Vibe Coding Bible?
Yes. The Vibe Coding Bible is a single book written by Tom Smykowski, first published in 2025 on Summon The JSON and continuously updated since. If you see a clone or a "second edition" from another author, it isn't this book.
What format do I get?
A 459-page PDF in B5 format (beautifully designed for screens) and an EPUB for Kindle, Kobo, iPad, and phones. Both files are delivered as an instant download after checkout.
How long is the book?
459 pages, structured as a playbook. Read it cover to cover or jump to the chapter that matches what you're shipping today.
Where does the purchase happen?
On Summon The JSON's secure checkout. Pay by card or supported wallet. One-time payment, no subscription.
Do I get future updates?
Yes. Lifetime updates are included in the price. As the tooling and best practices evolve, the book evolves with them - and existing buyers get every update at no extra cost.
Is the book language-specific?
No. The book is language-agnostic. Short examples are written in Python and JavaScript because both are readable across the industry, but the workflows and prompts apply to any language.
Who is this book for?
Senior engineers, tech leads, junior developers, indie hackers, and non-coders with big ideas. Each audience has a clear track of takeaways through the book.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not to read the book - the examples are short and explained in plain English. To apply the workflows you'll want at least some scripting experience, but non-coders use the book to brief AI tools and review what comes back.
Will the prompts go stale?
Some specific prompts will, but the patterns won't. The book teaches anatomy and intent so you can write new prompts as models change. Updates keep the concrete examples fresh.
What's the refund policy?
If the book doesn't level up your workflow, reply to your receipt and Tom will make it right. See the full refunds page →
Can I expense it?
Yes. You'll get a receipt from Summon The JSON's checkout that you can submit to your team or accountant.
Can I share the book with my team?
The license covers personal use. For team or company-wide deployment, reach out and Tom will arrange a team pack at a fair price.
Is there a print edition?
Not at this time. The B5 PDF is designed to read like a printed book on screens, and you can self-print the PDF if you prefer paper.
How is this different from other AI coding books?
It's written by someone who ships software for a living, not someone who only writes about it. The workflows are the same ones Tom uses to deliver client work and his own indie products - and the book includes a full chapter of mistakes he made so you don't repeat them.
